Standing Together Against Bullying

In our second collaboration with Maui High School’s Digital Design Work-Based Learning (WBL) class, the Maui Police Department is proud to partner with Senior Ivy Bulosan to share a meaningful message of unity, respect, and resilience.

Through art, culture, and youth leadership, this project reminds us that how we treat one another truly matters — and that together, we can rise above negativity and bullying.

We are honored to share Ivy’s words and vision, exactly as she expressed them:

"I wanted to incorporate the banyan trees in Lahaina as a tribute to a difficult time in our history, when our community came together to help one another during the fires. I also wanted to promote the idea that no matter who you are, you are capable of helping others. All it takes is kindness and aloha. I want people to know that you don’t need a title or a respectable background to make a difference. Even the littlest amount of help can go a long way. And who knows, it could even save a life.

This poster is meant to match the style of my first design. While the first aimed to highlight community pride and taking leadership through the symbolism of surfing, this one focuses more on unity, resilience, and the everyday acts of kindness through the symbolism of the banyan tree. Hawai'i will forever be my home, a place full of aloha. So let's keep things that way, the County Way."

Mahalo to Ivy Bulosan and the Maui High School Digital Design WBL class for using creativity to inspire change and strengthen our community. Let’s continue to lift one another up and stand together against bullying.
