School is Back in Session – Let's Keep Our Keiki Safe

As the new school year begins, the Maui Police Department asks for your kōkua in helping keep our keiki, school staff, and pedestrians safe.

Please remember to:

Stop and yield to pedestrians at crosswalks and intersections.

Always stop when a crossing guard is displaying a stop sign.

Never pass a vehicle stopped for pedestrians in a crosswalk.

Never pass a school bus that is stopped to load or unload children.

Slow down and obey all posted school zone speed limits.

Use designated school drop-off and pick-up areas.

Help keep our neighborhoods safe by avoiding blocked driveways and following parking restrictions near schools.

The start and end of the school day bring increased traffic and activity around our schools. A little extra patience and attention behind the wheel can help keep everyone safe.

Let's work together to ensure every student has a safe journey to and from school.
