September is National Suicide Prevention Month

September is a time to remind ourselves that hope, help, and healing are always within reach. If you or someone you know is in crisis, help is available 24/7. Call or text 988 or call 911 in an emergency.

Hawai‘i CARES 988 provides free, confidential, 24/7 call, text, and chat support for those experiencing suicidal thoughts, mental health challenges, substance use, or other emotional distress. Family and friends are also encouraged to reach out if they are concerned about a loved one.

Learn more at hicares.hawaii.gov.

You may not always know what someone is experiencing. A simple check-in, a listening ear, or sharing the right resource at the right moment can make a difference.

Suicide prevention starts with connection. Together, we can break the silence, support one another, and save lives.
