April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

Distracted driving is a serious and widespread issue. While texting, talking, or checking social media on a cell phone is the most common distraction, it is not the only one. Adjusting the radio, eating, drinking, or applying makeup can also divert your attention from the road.

When you drive distracted, you are giving up the seconds you may need to prevent a close call or a deadly crash.

Stay focused. Stay alive. Do not drive distracted.

If you need to send a text, pull over and park in a safe location.

Let a passenger be your designated texter.

Avoid scrolling through apps while driving.

If it is a struggle, place your phone in the trunk, glove box, or back seat until you reach your destination.

Your attention can save lives.
