National School Resource Officer Day

Today marks National School Resource Officer Day, dedicated to honoring the invaluable contributions and dedication of School Resource Officers (SROs). These individuals play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and faculty within our school communities.

While SROs have a variety of duties and responsibilities on a day-to-day basis, our SROs abide by the standards set forth by the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO), which emphasizes the triad model of school-based policing of being a law enforcement officer, informal counselor, and educator.

Currently, the Maui Police Department has eight SROs assigned to schools throughout the county:

Baldwin High School

Hana High and Elementary School

King Kekaulike High School

Kulanihako’i High School

Lahainaluna High School

Maui High School

Lana'i High and Elementary School

Moloka'i High School

Please join us in thanking your SRO for their dedication to our students and community!!
