MPD Honors Fallen Officers for National Police Week 2025

In honor of National Police Week, we remember and pay tribute to law enforcement officers from city, county, state, military, and federal agencies who made the ultimate sacrifice. We also honor the family members, friends, and fellow officers they left behind.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which May 15 falls as National Police Week. In 2025, National Police Week is from May 11 to May 17.

The Maui Police Department honors five officers, a U.S. National Park Ranger, and a U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Special Agent killed in the line of duty in Maui County:

• Officer Harry Fung (November 19, 1941)

• Officer Frank A.F. Kong (July 11, 1952)

• Officer William F. Roback Sr. (April 13, 1958)

• Officer Gene V. Williams (August 9, 1999)

• Officer Cerilo Agarano Jr. (November 9, 1999)

• Ranger Suzanne Roberts (September 14, 2004)

• Special Agent John Bost III (July 28, 2020)

As we remember those who lost their lives in the line of duty, we also honor the brave men and women across the country who serve their communities, ensuring our safety and security.
