ILLEGAL FIREWORKS & GUN BUYBACK EVENT

In partnership with the Governor’s Office, Department of Law Enforcement, and Honolulu Police Department, the Maui Police Department is hosting an Illegal Fireworks and Gun Buyback Event.

Saturday, September 19, 2026

9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Maui Service Center

ILLEGAL FIREWORKS

Foodland gift cards up to $200:

\* $10/lb. – Mortars and display fireworks

\* $5/lb. – Cakes, canisters, aerial shells, Roman candles, and other illegal fireworks

Retail fireworks, homemade/modified fireworks, and improvised explosives will not be accepted.

GUN BUYBACK

Foodland gift card awards:

\* $200 – Assault-type rifles and ghost guns

\* $100 – Handguns, rifles, shotguns and Glock switches

Ammunition will not be accepted.

NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

For everyone’s safety, secure all items in containers and place them in the vehicle’s trunk. Please wait for first responders or law enforcement to retrieve the items from the vehicle.
