National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is observed from April 12 to 18, 2026.

This week, we proudly recognize the dedicated professionals in the Maui Police Department’s Communications Section.

They are the first voice you hear in an emergency, calm, focused, and ready to help. With every call, they coordinate responses, dispatch assistance, and provide critical guidance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

While others respond on scene, they are already working behind the scenes, gathering vital information, supporting first responders, and offering reassurance when it matters most. Though often unseen, their impact is felt in every emergency response.

Their commitment ensures that help is always within reach.

On behalf of the Maui Police Department, we extend our sincere gratitude to our dispatchers and all Public Safety Telecommunicators across the nation. Thank you for your professionalism, compassion, and unwavering dedication to our communities.

Please join us in recognizing and thanking these essential professionals.
