Child Passenger Safety Week is September 21 - 27, 2025
Car crashes are still one of the main causes of death for children ages 0 to 14. Research shows that many parents and caregivers feel confident about choosing and installing car seats, but almost half of all seats are not installed correctly.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) encourages parents and caregivers to make sure children are in the correct seat for their age and size, whether it is rear-facing, forward-facing, or a booster. It is also important to check that the seat is installed properly. In a crash, doing just enough may not protect your child. Every child deserves the right seat, used the right way.
Check that your child’s seat matches their age and size at NHTSA.gov/TheRightSeat.
