Happy 4th of July!
The Maui Police Department asks for the public's assistance in ensuring everyone has a safe holiday. Please remember:
Consumer fireworks may only be legally ignited from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on July 4th.
Using aerial fireworks without a permit is a Class C felony, with fines up to $2,000.
Always supervise children and have a bucket of water or a hose nearby when using fireworks.
Have pets safely indoors or in a secure area and ensure they have proper identification in case they escape.
Designate a sober driver or use a ride-sharing service to ensure everyone gets home safely.
If you see an impaired driver on the road, call the Maui Police Department to report it.
Let’s work together to keep this 4th of July festive, fire-free, and safe for all.
