Alaula Kaopuiki-Santos Receives 2026 Bost Memorial Scholarship

The Maui Police Department is proud to recognize Alaula Kaopuiki-Santos as the recipient of the 2026 John W. Bost III Memorial Scholarship Award. Alaula is the daughter of MPD Captain Keoki Santos and his wife, Keala.

Established in memory of Special Agent John W. Bost III of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the scholarship honors his dedication to public safety and service. During his time embedded with MPD, Special Agent Bost built meaningful relationships with our personnel and community that continue to be remembered today.

The scholarship provides annual awards to eligible applicants affiliated with the Maui Police Department, ATF, and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, continuing the connections Special Agent Bost helped establish throughout his career. It also supports the next generation through education while recognizing the values of leadership, service, and community involvement.

Congratulations to Alaula on this well-deserved recognition. We are honored to celebrate her achievement, preserve Special Agent Bost’s legacy, and recognize the enduring partnership between MPD and ATF.
