MPD Citizens Police Academy

The Maui Police Departments Citizens Police Academy, called Program INSPIRE, is an interactive 10-week program designed for interested applicants or members of our community that have the desire to learn about a career with the Maui Police Department and the criminal justice system.

Program INSPIRE creates a platform for members of the department and the community to interact in a positive and proactive setting, building relationships, and increasing community involvement.
The Maui Police Department is now accepting
applications for Program INSPIRE.  The sessions will be a 4-hour weekly block of classroom and field instruction covering a variety of subjects that will give participants a basic overview of what it takes to be a police officer.
The program is limited to only (10) participants.  Participants must be at least 18 years old and pass a criminal background check.

Application process closed. All participation positions have been filled.
